Prairie Land's motto is "Small Schools Preparing Students for Big Futures". Our schools are great places to learn and teach, and the communities our schools are located in are very involved in the school communities. The "Return to Rural" movement is seeing an influx of people moving into our division because of the rural lifestyle and as a way to get out of the big metropolitan areas.

PLSD is a leader in creating and supporting a model that sustains and ensures viability of small rural schools through video-conferencing. Our video conferencing capabilities and infrastructure in our schools is among the best in the province. The COVID pandemic forced school divisions to develop and deliver online programming on short notice and PLSD students were only without organized instruction for one day. Online schooling options are available to families in Prairie Land and the recent addition of the Hope Christian Academy Online School to the existing brick-and-mortar sites has only increased our flexibility and student options.

It has been noted that both curricular and extra-curricular programming at PLSD Schools continue to thrive as noted in the Alberta Education Accountability Pillar, but our Safe and Caring ratings are extraordinarily high.
